Students will build an Arduino-controlled robot while learning about electronic circuits, the Arduino microprocessor, motors, and various sensors. They will learn to use basic tools as they construct the mechanical components, add electronics, and then use Arduino programming to have the robot complete specific tasks, including basic movements (forward, backward, left, and right), line following, and object avoidance. If you want to take the robot home, there will be a $60 materials fee in addition to the class cost of $165 for the eight 1.5-hour classes. Class meets on Thursdays from 1:00 – 2:30 on the following dates: Mar 5, 19, 26; Apr 2, 16, 23, 30; and May 7.
